THE PROGRAMME · 6 DAYS

One week, day by day

From Sunday evening to Friday afternoon. A story, not an Excel spreadsheet.

Day 1 · Sunday

Arrival at the chalet

5 PM, the bus drops off the first riders at the chalet. ESV team introductions, tour of the premises, room assignments. Dinner together, welcome night, first friendships. Everyone in bed by 10 PM — tomorrow gets serious.

Day 2 · Monday

First session, first progress

Warm-up, safety briefing, gear checked. Coaches assess each rider’s level on the Crosets and Champéry trails, then form final groups. Lunch in Champéry, supervised free riding in the afternoon. End of day: pool, slackline, and first crashes… to recount over dinner.

Day 3 · Tuesday

Off to Châtel, the playful French side

Bus transfer to Châtel — border crossing, first real French bike park. DH coaching in the morning on well-traced playful trails, picnic on site, afternoon ride. In the evening, back to the chalet and off to XStream Park: giant trampoline, air bag modules, parkour. The teens laugh until their sides hurt.

Day 4 · Wednesday

Châtel again, and the adventure park

Second day in Châtel to consolidate progress. Coaches push groups onto trails one notch above, lap times improve, confidence grows. End of day: Adventure Park and ziplines for a different kind of unwind. Wednesday evening, some take a tumble, others become the kings of the zipline.

Day 5 · Thursday

The Megaride, and Wild BBQ Night

The day everyone waits for all week. Megaride across 5 resorts: Crosets → Morzine → Les Gets in the morning, epic picnic in Les Gets in front of the World Cup track, then Les Gets → Morzine → Crosets in the afternoon. 600 km covered as a group total, phones full of photos. In the evening: Wild BBQ Night, fire, marshmallows, music. The night that makes teens never want to leave.

Day 6 · Friday

Validation, debrief, departure

Final coaching at home base, on the Crosets trails everyone now knows like the back of their hand. The chance for coaches to film final descents and validate progress. Snack, group debrief, ESV diploma ceremony. At 5:30 PM, parents arrive and pick up a different teen than the one they dropped off.

★★★★★

Fantastic experience. The ESV coaches adapt with great care to each young rider’s needs, putting in place a personalised approach — tailored exercises, appropriate trails — to optimise progress. Strongly recommended.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

All the answers, at a glance

Level, gear, safety, contact during the stay. Another question? Write to us, reply within 48 h.

What age is required?

The camp is open to young riders aged 12 to 17. Groups are formed by level and age range, so each teen progresses alongside compatible peers.

For under 12s, please contact us: depending on the rider’s profile, tailored arrangements can be considered.

What MTB level is required?

The camp is designed for confirmed beginners and intermediate/advanced levels. Riders must be able to hold the bike, brake, negotiate basic turns and have already done MTB downhill (green or blue trail).

Absolute beginners should first attend our MTB weekend course. ESV coaches assess the level during the first session and adapt the group’s programme accordingly.

What gear is mandatory?

Mandatory and non-negotiable gear:

Full-face helmet — no half-shell helmet
Knee pads and elbow pads
Long MTB gloves
Goggles or mask

Strongly recommended: back protector, neck brace, reinforced long trousers. A protective gear rental pack is available (+CHF 85) if you’d rather not invest.

Does my teen need their own MTB?

Ideally yes — a personal Downhill or Enduro MTB in good condition is ideal. Mastery of a familiar bike is a real plus.

Otherwise, the rental option is available (+CHF 500): partner-brand bike, suitable size, fully serviced. Probably the easiest way to start a first week of intensive DH.

How many riders per coaching group?

Coaching groups are formed with 6 riders maximum per coach, distributed by level for homogeneous progress and personalised coaching.

In total, the camp welcomes 20 to 30 teens per session, with a proportional supervision team.

Can I contact my teen during the stay?

Yes — teens keep their phones and can call you in the evening (not during ride sessions, for focus and safety).

A parents’ liaison is reachable throughout the camp for any urgent question. Daily group photos and updates on request.

What happens in bad weather?

The camp runs in July-August: weather is generally favourable. In case of showers, we keep going (mountain trails dry quickly).

In case of very bad weather, coaches switch to backup activities: technique theory, mechanics, MTB films, games, sauna, Champéry indoor pool. No day is ever lost.

How do registration and payment work?

Registration happens directly on this page:

• Choose your session in the grid above
• Fill in the form (rider info, gear, diet, health)
• Pay online securely by card
• Receive confirmation with all the details

A health form and parental authorisation will be requested. For any question: reservation@chaletmontriond.ch.
